I would suggest a 300 spine for your specs.

I use 400 spine but then again I am only shooting 60lb with a 28" draw.

For the Gold Tip line then look at the 7595 as it is always best to be a little over spined then under spined

340s go well at this # and draw. thats what I shot with for ages and still do.

predator , they are sizes for carbon arrows and the numbers show the spine stiffness . thanks

spine is diff to weight isnt it? shooting a 70lb bow tou should be using 70lb spine or better arrows. a 70lb spine wood is way heavier than a 70lb carbon like a gold tip hunter. 8)

Spine is different to weight.

The spine of the arrow is a measurement of how flexible it is. The arrow needs to be less flexible with more poundage behind it or the longer your draw.

I am using GT's 55/75's at 27.5" @60lb with 85 gr. field points, and when I get the chance 130 gr. b/heads.However I dont know if this is a good recipe.Only that it's what I use. Any suggestions gratefully accepted.

HM go to the easton site and you will have a good place to start as it lists suitable arrows for your bow weight, draw length and broadhead

Back to basics. I found this to be a really good site. Right down to the anatomy of an arrow.

Hunt Boy,

I dont know what weight/spine arrow to suggest, but i will say dont trust what the easton arrow chart tells you!!!

When i shot compound it told me 2315's going by my specs, and they were perhaps the worst arrow for it.

Again, it told me 2315's for my recurve, and i thought they shot ok out of it. But it was suggested to me that i should shoot 2018's and they fly like a bullet compared to the 2315's. It may be an ok starting point, but dont settle on the arrow it suggests before trying others!

The spine for my Ultratec 70# @ 28.5" with 125gr heads is supposed to be 55/75 by the Gold Tip chart, but I get far more consistant accuracy with the75/95.

the easton chart is only a rough guide, try different spined arrows and see which one flys the best.

300's are going to be in the ball park :!:
