Hey i am just after a little advice i am currently trying to decide between the string supressor or a bow jax 2 for silencing my xforce. I am leaning towards the string supresor at the moment simply because it doesnt slow down the arrow speed however i am just after a few thoughts from anyone who might have used both and can advise if the supressor is good enough to be the sole silencing system on a bow???

there is nothing on the market in my opinion that is more effective in noise and ressonance dampening then an sts... that would definately be the way i would be leaning mate... just get one that fits, my sts went through some hefty modification to get it to fit the bow... well worth the time and effort though...

Every bow setup is different, unless we could hear your bow with your hunting arrows being shot out of it, it would be impossible to tell if the string suppressor is enough. I have had know hands on experience with the STS that Wazza talks about but I will say the quieter the better, a noisy bow normally means that the left over energy after the arrow leaves the string is being converted to sound through your limbs, cables etc which is not a great for your bow. From a hunting point of view the quieter the better, less chance the game will jump the string if they hear nothing. The animal will always hear your bow before the arrow arrives, unless your arrow is traveling at more then 1130fps when it reaches its target.

IMO Other options are to use a heavier arrow, you would be surprised at how much quieter the bow is with a heavy arrow:o. It seems a waste to draw your bow back and create X amount of energy and only transfer part of it to your arrow and dampen the leftover energy through sound suppressors etc. Its all a balance, find whats good for you and stick to it.:)
