I had the pleasure of going for a hunt with Mozza a few days ago and you couldn't meet a nicer bloke .
I got to Canberra about 9 am and we were at the property about 11 and after a few introductions with the owners we went straight out for some whistling. While the foxes were proving to be very ellusive the rabbits were not and at one spot we had about 20 shots each that were mostly longish ones.
A few broadheads had bits of fur on them and we didnt actually get any in the bag but it was a lot of fun. There was rabbits bursting for cover all over the place and so we just walked round taking 20 to 30 metre shots hence the zero in the bag result.
Then right as it was getting dark I see Mozza draw back looking toward a clump of bushes then as he took the shot I could see movement in the bush so I had a shot too at what I thought was another bunny.
It was 3 feral cats hoeing into a dead rosella and a little rabbit.2 of the cats went straight down a wombat hole and one stood broadside on top of the mound not knowing what was going on.
We both let an arrow loose at it at once with both just missing and the cat bolted for its life.It was a really enjoyable arvo .
The next day we explored a mountain on one of the properties where Moz saw some goats a few weeks before.
The long and the short was the wind was not good and they were positioned in a very good spot for there safety.heres some pics of the weekend including the dog tree,a copperhead,a billy on a rock,a nice set of horns we came across, the outlook and one of Mozza about to draw on a billy although its hard to see either of them
Thanks mate for a great trip
